Helpdesk

We would like to mount our Strompi3 board (with the battery pack) separately to our Raspberry Pi 4 board, and connect them together using separate jumper cables (not a ribbon cable). We are using the serial connection to manage the Strompi3 board. What are the minimum pins which we would need to connect over? I think they are as follows, can you confirm please:

Pin 1,17 = 3.3V power

Pin 2,5 = 5V power

Pin 8 = GPIO 14 TXD0

Pin 10 = GPIO 15 RXD0

Pin 6, 9, 14, 20, 25, 30, 34, 39 = Ground

Pin 40 = GPIO 21 Serialless (not used)

Are there any other pins we should also be connecting over?

Many thanks.

Hello ozbyte,

regarding your problem:, if you don't plan to use any other pins of the StromPi3 board then you will only need:

Pin1 = 3.3V power

Pin2,4 = 5V power

Pin6, 9, 14, 20, 25, 30, 34 and 39 = Ground

Pin8 = GPIO14 = RXD0

Pin10 = GPIO15 = TXD0

Pin40 = GPIO21 = Serialless Pin

Also keep in mind to not use too long cables as the length of the cables could lessen the signal strength between the Raspberry Pi and the StromPi3.

With kind regards
